Wetzwil and the canton's largest erratic boulder
Above the village, at 560 m above sea level, lies the Pflugstein, with around 1000 cubic metres of visible rock the largest erratic boulder in the canton of Zurich. The Linth glacier carried it here from the Glarus Alps during the last ice age. The boundary with Erlenbach runs between the stone and the restaurant of the same name.
Wetzwil is home to the Reformed church, dedicated to St Bartholomew in the Middle Ages, with wall paintings from the 15th century. There is also the Catholic church of St. Marien from 1956, built in the style of French concrete Gothic. If you live in Wetzwil or at another higher address, you should not leave access to chance.
