Hungary is part of the EU, Switzerland is not. The Hungarian tax and customs administration NAV lists, among other things, residence outside the EU for at least 12 months and an actual transfer of residence as requirements for the exemption of personal household removal goods.
Clarify the further details – documents and deadlines – directly with the NAV before your move. In Switzerland, an inventory list is sufficient for export.

Customs when moving to Hungary: what the authorities require
The Hungarian NAV lists as requirements:
Export from Switzerland
- Inventory list: at the export customs office, an inventory list with your addresses in Switzerland and abroad is sufficient (BAZG).
- Vehicles: register separately for export, with a copy of the Swiss vehicle registration document.
- Municipality: Deregister with your previous municipality of residence.
Import into Hungary (nav.gov.hu)
- Residence: at least 12 months outside the EU.
- Transfer of residence: actual transfer of residence to Hungary.
- Other requirements: check documents and deadlines directly with the NAV.

I was very satisfied with the moving services and the cleaning work. The furniture was properly packed and handled with care. The subsequent cleaning was also carried out professionally, so the handover went through without any issues. What's more, all the staff were extremely friendly. I can only recommend the company.
