    Moving costs Fislisbach

What a move to Fislisbach costs: hollow, plain, hillside

Fislisbach is around 23 km from Wallisellen as the crow flies, and the Baden-West A1 junction is just under three kilometres from the village. The journey there and back counts as actual working time. Within the village, the effort varies by location: on the flat plain in the west the paths are short, in the hollow in the centre the parking spot matters, and towards the Oberhau we check the carrying route and vehicle. The viewing costs nothing.

        Fislisbach at a glance

Fislisbach: a village between Hiltiberg and Buechberg

Every move in Fislisbach starts with a look at the local conditions: access, floors, parking and the route to the removal van. The village centre is nestled in a hollow between the two wooded hills Hiltiberg and Buechberg. There is no railway station of its own; Mellingen Heitersberg station (Zurich S-Bahn) is around 1.5 km to the south-west, and the Baden-West A1 junction around 3 km to the north.

Besides Fislisbach itself, we also work in the neighbouring municipalities of Baden, Neuenhof, Oberrohrdorf, Niederrohrdorf and Mellingen. Fislisbach belongs to the district of Baden in the canton of Aargau.

        Getting to know Fislisbach

Moving company Fislisbach: between moraine hills and the Heitersberg

On 30 March 1848, 31 houses burned down in Fislisbach. By the end of 1849 the village centre had been completely rebuilt, this time with more spacious development. That is why hardly any old buildings survive; the exceptions are the neoclassical parish church of St. Agatha from 1829, which is a listed monument, and the Hotel "Linde", a former tithe barn. For a move in the centre, this is actually an advantage: there is usually some space between the houses for the removal van.

        Hollow, moraine and plain

The village centre is nestled in a hollow between the Hiltiberg (470 m above sea level) and the Buechberg (468 m). The two wooded hills are part of a moraine left behind by the Reuss glacier at the end of the last Ice Age. The modern districts of recent decades were built to the west on the flat plain. To the east, the land rises to the Oberhau, which at 619 m is part of the Heitersberg chain.

As movers in Fislisbach, we therefore distinguish between the following at the viewing:

        • The plain in the west: usually short, level paths to the vehicle
        • The hollow in the centre: fix the parking spot, parking reservation if needed
        • Hillside locations towards the Oberhau: check vehicle size and carrying route carefully

The village also has a footnote in church history: in 1522, parish priest Urban Wyss, a friend of Zwingli, spread the Reformation here. The tumult that followed is considered one of the triggers of the Zurich Disputations of 1523.

No railway station, but good roads

In 1877, Fislisbach missed out when the Nationalbahn railway was built, because the municipality had barely contributed to it. The nearest station, Mellingen Heitersberg on the Zurich S-Bahn, is around one and a half kilometres to the south-west. On the other hand, cantonal road 268 from Baden to Mägenwil runs through the village, and the Baden-West A1 junction is just under three kilometres away. For our furniture transport from Wallisellen, around 23 km away as the crow flies, Fislisbach is therefore easy to reach.

Working in the village, commuting in the region

Fislisbach had around 1,250 jobs in 2015, and a large proportion of residents work locally. Many others commute to Zurich, the Limmat valley, Baden, Brugg or Aarau. For local businesses, we plan office relocations outside business hours, and for commuter households, on a Saturday at no extra charge if desired. Today Fislisbach has 6,134 inhabitants (as of the end of 2025).

A look at taxes can play a role when moving within the area: in 2026, the Gemeindesteuerfuss (municipal tax rate) in Fislisbach is 109%, in Baden 89% and in Niederrohrdorf 97%. Whether you need a removal company for Baden to the north, support with a move to Niederrohrdorf or to Mellingen to the south, or are moving here from Neuenhof: your moving company in Fislisbach is here for you.

        Questions about Fislisbach

Do you also move households between Fislisbach and Baden's exclave of Rütihof?
Yes. Rütihof belongs to the town of Baden, but borders Fislisbach directly to the west. A move between the two places is a short distance for us, which we plan with the same viewing and a quote within 24 hours.

How does a move in the village centre differ from one in the newer districts?
The centre lies in a hollow between the Hiltiberg and Buechberg and was rebuilt with spacious development after the fire of 1848. The newer districts lie on the flat plain to the west. We clarify the parking spot and carrying route for both locations at the viewing.

        Local moving logistics

Moving house in Fislisbach: village centre, plain and slopes to the Oberhau

Fislisbach is compact but not uniform: a cantonal road runs through the centre, the newer residential districts lie on flat ground in the west, and in the east the terrain rises towards the Heitersberg chain. We plan moving day around this.

Village centre on cantonal road 268

The road between Baden and Mägenwil runs right through the village, and the roads to Bremgarten and the Mutschellen branch off here too. If you live on this route, we look for a parking spot that does not block through traffic and reserve it in good time.

Residential districts on the western plain

West of the hollow, the newer districts have been built in recent decades, with the land dropping to 408 m above sea level. Gradients hardly matter; more important are lift size, floor level and a free parking space in front of the apartment block.

        Hillside locations towards the Oberhau

To the east, Fislisbach rises to 619 m above sea level. For houses on the slope, we clarify whether the van can drive up or whether a smaller vehicle and a short shuttle route will get there faster.

        Parking reservation

If the removal van has to stand on public ground, for example near the cantonal road in the centre, we obtain the necessary permit from the responsible office in Fislisbach. The municipality charges the fee for this directly.

        Disposal

It's best to take normal household small quantities to the collection point of the municipality of Fislisbach yourself. For old furniture, carpets or a cellar full of discarded items, we take care of proper disposal at CHF 65.– per m³.

        B2B

        Business relocations for Fislisbach companies

According to the municipality, small and medium-sized businesses provide around 1,150 jobs, including the paint and varnish manufacturer MONOPOL Colors. For workshops, offices and production, we plan business moves outside operating hours.

        Frequently asked questions

What you ask about moving in Fislisbach

Who is responsible for the parking space when moving from Fislisbach to Rütihof?

For the new address, the town of Baden, because Rütihof is a district of Baden, even though it borders Fislisbach directly. We therefore submit two applications, one in Fislisbach and one in Baden, if a reserved space is needed at both addresses. The authorities invoice the fees to you directly.

How do Fislisbach businesses move folders, files and archive cabinets without chaos?

As an archive relocation: files are packed into boxes in their existing order, labelled and put back in the same order in the new office. For workshops and offices in the village, we plan this so that business continues the next working day with complete records.

Where does our furniture go if building our house in Fislisbach takes longer than planned?

Into our furniture storage, dry, climate-controlled and alarm-protected. We clear your previous flat on schedule, put your household goods into storage and deliver them as soon as the new house in Fislisbach is ready to move into. Our carpenters then assemble everything directly on moving-in day.

When is the lift in an apartment block on Fislisbach's western plain not enough?

When wardrobe parts, a sofa or a box-spring bed are longer than the cabin is deep. We measure the inside of the lift and the door width at the viewing and dismantle large furniture beforehand. If a piece still doesn't fit when dismantled, or the flat is on a high floor, we bring it in over the balcony with the furniture lift if needed.

What happens at the flat handover in Fislisbach if the landlord finds defects?

If you have booked the end-of-tenancy cleaning with us, our team attends the handover. We touch up any areas criticised during the appointment free of charge, so you can hand over the keys without a second attempt. This applies to flats on the plain as well as in the village centre.

Why is a cost ceiling worthwhile for a house on the Oberhau?

Because the hillside location and carrying distance make the time required harder to predict. After the viewing, we can set a cost ceiling or a flat rate on request. Otherwise we bill the actual time in 15-minute increments, with a minimum of three hours.

What protection is used for glass tables and mirrors when moving from Fislisbach?

We pack glass panels and mirrors individually in protective material and transport them upright and secured. Edges get extra padding, and furniture is wrapped in blankets. That way, even on the short route to Baden or Mellingen, everything stays in its place in the van.

What should I watch out for if my flat is right on the cantonal road through the village?

Above all, a second access: if the house has a back entrance or a driveway from a side street, we check whether loading can take place there. Clear bikes and cars from the yard and driveway the evening before. We carry large items so that the path from the van does not cross the carriageway.
