In old houses between the Limmat and the Schlossberg we line steps and banisters; in new buildings in Dättwil we also protect the lift car and entrance hall.
If the entrance of an old-town building is too narrow for a wardrobe or sofa, we lift the pieces up the façade with the furniture lift directly into the room.
For addresses in Meierhof and on the Brunnmatt we use a smaller vehicle if needed, which can get right up to the door and keep the carrying distance short.
If the move goes to the exclave Rütihof or to the former village of Turgi, we plan the drive as a separate leg with its own loading time.
Our carpenters reassemble the furniture; we relocate offices and laboratories in the industrial area north of the station after hours, so that work can continue the next morning.
Finally we collect the boxes and take old furniture away; small quantities of glass and recyclables are easiest to take to the brings Sammelstelle Turgi (collection point).
The canton of Aargau gives you 14 days from the move to report your change of address; in many municipalities this can be done online via eUmzug (online change of address). In Baden itself, the Stadtbüro (town office) handles the registration of new residents.
For your post to follow you from or to Baden, Swiss Post needs the forwarding order 4 working days before moving day at the latest. You do not need to write to Serafe (radio/TV licence fee), because the new address reaches them automatically via the Einwohnerkontrolle (residents' registration office).
The municipal tax rate of Baden in 2026 is 89 %. For comparison in 2026: Obersiggenthal 110 %, Untersiggenthal 105 %, Wettingen 95 %, Neuenhof 112 % and Aarau 96 %. Baden is therefore lower than Aarau. Baden has its own parliament, the Einwohnerrat.

We reach Baden from Wallisellen after around 23 km as the crow flies, and the journey is billed as working time. The topography is decisive: almost 290 metres of altitude between the Limmat and the Heitersberg, an old town in the narrow gorge, hillside locations on the Chrüzliberg and the Meierhof quarter in the Stadtbach valley. The stopping place, furniture lift and carrying distance determine the effort. We record everything during the free viewing.

For us, Baden is not just a dot on the map but a real place of work with its own routes, access roads and neighbourhoods. Baden lies in the densely populated Limmat Valley, 21 kilometres north-west of Zurich and 22 kilometres north-east of Aarau. The Old Town lies on the left bank of the Limmat in the gorge between the Lägern and the Schlossberg; from 1847, Baden was the terminus of the first entirely Swiss railway line.
As your moving company for Baden, we also handle moves in the districts of Dättwil, Rütihof, Münzlishausen, Segelhof, Kappelerhof and Allmend – with the same planning and the same guide prices. As a moving company, we also plan moves from Baden to a neighbouring municipality such as Obersiggenthal, Untersiggenthal, Ennetbaden and Wettingen from a single source. Baden belongs to the district of Baden in the canton of Aargau.
Baden grew outwards in a star shape because the landscape left little other choice. The old town sits in a Klus (gorge) cut by the Limmat between the Lägern and the Schlossberg; at its narrowest point a short wooden bridge was enough to cross the river. Around it, the neighbourhoods are spread across plains, valleys and slopes. Almost 290 metres of altitude separate the lowest point on the Limmat (331 m above sea level) from the Oberhau on the Heitersberg.
North of the old town come the modern centre with the railway station, the Bäderquartier with its 21 thermal springs and the industrial area. The Kappelerhof lies on a plateau above the Limmat, the Allmend and the former hamlet of Münzlishausen in the Eichtal, and the Meierhof quarter in the narrow valley of the Stadtbach. For your move this means:
Our movers in Baden clarify all of this in advance, either at an appointment at your address or via a video tour on WhatsApp, free of charge.
Just under three kilometres south-west of the old town, on a lateral moraine of the former Reuss glacier, lie Dättwil and Segelhof with around 2800 inhabitants combined; this is where the town holds almost all of its building land reserves. Further south-west, in the Reuss valley between Fislisbach and Mellingen, lies Rütihof: with around 2400 inhabitants, the most populous exclave in Switzerland. Since the beginning of 2024 Turgi has also been part of Baden; its village centre lies around 4.5 km west-north-west of the town centre.
A move from Rütihof to the old town therefore stays within the municipality but passes through another municipality's territory. We plan it like any other move within the town.
Baden is where Brown, Boveri & Cie., today's ABB, was founded, and an important location of the GE group. With 23,853 inhabitants (end of 2024), the town has been the most populous municipality in Aargau since its merger with Turgi and is the centre of a sub-agglomeration of around 100,000 people. We relocate offices, practices and workshops outside business hours, including furniture assembly and disposal on request.
Baden is closely intertwined with Wettingen, both geographically and economically. We handle your move to Wettingen just as we act as the removal company for Obersiggenthal across the Limmat. Rütihof's neighbours are Fislisbach and the small town of Mellingen. Our base in Wallisellen is around 23 km away as the crow flies, so your moving company for Baden reaches you quickly.
Do you also handle removals to Rütihof, Dättwil and Turgi?
Yes. Dättwil and Segelhof lie south-west of the old town, and Rütihof is an exclave between Fislisbach and Mellingen. Turgi has been part of Baden since the beginning of 2024. For us, all these districts are part of the same service area.
How do you plan a move in Baden's old town?
The old town lies in the gorge between the Lägern and the Schlossberg on the left bank of the Limmat. We fix the stopping place during the viewing, organise the parking reservation and use a furniture lift if needed.
Baden's neighbourhoods are spread over plateaus, narrow valleys and slopes. That is why we match the vehicle, stopping place and carrying distance to each address individually before a date is fixed.
Between the Lägern and the Schlossberg, the old town leaves little room for a removal vehicle. We fix the stopping place in advance and, where building entrances are narrow, plan for a furniture lift so that wardrobes do not have to go through the stairwell.
The Meierhof quarter runs through the narrow valley of the Stadtbach, while Brunnmatt lies on the eastern slope of the Chrüzliberg. For such addresses we check whether a smaller vehicle can get closer to the front door and how long the carrying distance will be.
Almost all of the town's building land reserves are in Dättwil, and we can only reach Rütihof via Fislisbach or Mellingen territory. For newer buildings we clarify in advance where the lift is and how big the car is.
The former village of Turgi lies around 4.5 km west-north-west of the town centre and has been part of Baden since 2024. A move from there to the centre counts as a move within the town, but we still plan the route with its own loading time.
Where no private space is free in front of the building, we reserve the stopping place on public land with the responsible office in Baden. We submit the application for you; the authority invoices the fee to you directly.
You can drop off small quantities of recyclables yourself at the brings Sammelstelle Turgi (collection point); Baden residents pay no annual fee there. For discarded furniture and larger items, we take care of proper disposal at CHF 65.– per m³.
Baden is where Brown, Boveri & Cie. was founded and a location of the GE group, with the industrial area north of the centre. We relocate offices, server rooms and laboratories outside business hours, and files by archive relocation on request.
From Baden we also move households to Wettingen, Ennetbaden, Obersiggenthal and Untersiggenthal, as well as to Neuenhof, Fislisbach, Birmenstorf or Gebenstorf. If you live in Rütihof, Fislisbach and Mellingen are your nearest neighbours.

With the end-of-tenancy cleaning with handover guarantee, our cleaning team does. It stands next to you and the property management at the handover and deals with complaints on the spot at no extra charge. For you this means no second appointment and no arguments about cleaning defects, whether the flat is in the Kappelerhof or in Dättwil.
As a short move within town with two stopping places, which we apply for with the town on your behalf. From the Kappelerhof on the plateau above the Limmat, the drive passes through the narrows at the Martinsberg and takes only minutes. Unloading in the Bäderquartier takes more time, so we place the stopping place there as close to the entrance as possible.
Small quantities such as bottles, newspapers or empty tins are easiest to take to the brings Sammelstelle Turgi yourself. You do not have to dispose of our moving boxes, however: we collect them from you after you move in. Old furniture that no longer fits in the new flat we load directly on moving day for proper disposal.
As soon as the boxes are at your place, starting with what you rarely need: cellar, attic, books and seasonal clothes. Crockery and the kitchen follow in the last few days, while documents and medication go into your own luggage. Write the destination room on every box, and it will end up in the right place straight away.
Piano transport starts at CHF 250.–, and the exact amount depends on the floor, the layout of the stairs and access. In the gorge we check during the viewing whether the instrument fits through the stairwell or whether the furniture lift is the gentler option. Padding and securing it in the vehicle are of course included.
Possibly Baden, even though the address is on the right bank of the Limmat: the town owns part of the Wettingerfeld there and the slope of the Lägern foothills up to below the castle. During the viewing we check whether we apply for the stopping place with Baden or Wettingen, and you immediately know where to register.
During the viewing we take the time to decide together which furniture comes along and what stays behind. We dispose of surplus items properly, and at the destination our carpenters assemble beds and wardrobes and arrange everything according to plan. On request we also clean the previous flat, so nobody has to worry about it.
A plan that barely interrupts operations: we pack servers and monitors separately and labelled, and move files as an archive relocation in numbered boxes. Our carpenters reassemble workstations according to a floor plan. We schedule the date outside working hours, for example on a Saturday without a surcharge.
