According to the canton, in Aargau you must report your new address within 14 days of moving. In many Aargau municipalities you can do this conveniently online via eUmzug (online change of address).
Swiss Post should have your mail forwarding order at least 4 working days before the move. You do not need to notify Serafe (radio/TV licence fee), as the Einwohnerkontrolle (residents' registration office) forwards the address automatically.

Getting to know Berikon
Moving Company Berikon: removals on the ridge above the Reuss valley
The name already tells you where Berikon lies: it probably goes back to the Old High German bërg-heim, a dwelling on high ground. The municipal area stretches from the Mutschellen pass at the foot of the Hasenberg south-east across the Holzbirrliberg, high above the Reuss valley. The lowest point in the Schlossmatt is at 522 m above sea level, the highest in the Allmend area at 670 m.
One village, two kilometres long
Berikon extends around two kilometres from north-west to south-east. Three districts have grown together over the past decades:
- Mutschellen at the top of the pass, with Berikon-Widen station
- Unterberikon in the middle
- Oberberikon in the south-east, where the Rummelbach stream rises
Between 1471 and 1803, Ober- and Unterberikon even belonged to different administrative districts, and separate local citizens' communities existed until 1906. Today the built-up area has also merged with Widen, Rudolfstetten-Friedlisberg and Zufikon. When moving within this settlement area, people often change municipality without noticing.
On a slope: planning in advance
Because Berikon sits on a ridge, not all streets are level.
