Opfikon is actually two localities: Opfikon to the right of the Glatt and Oberhausen to the left – but today Glattbrugg is better known, which is why people often speak of Opfikon-Glattbrugg. In Glattpark, where the buildings directly adjoin the city of Zurich, many high-rises have been built in recent years – moving there means reserving the delivery zone and lift with the property management in good time. The Opfikon city police are responsible for no-parking zones on public land; we handle the application for you.
Opfikon lies directly between Zurich and the airport – many large companies such as Swissport, Hotelplan and Sunrise have their headquarters here, so there is plenty of business traffic around the office areas. The population has grown by around 80 per cent since 2000, which means construction is still going on in many places, and building sites can block the usual access to your new address. The historic village centre around the Reformed church is quieter and more compact than the new neighbourhoods.
