Moving in Glattfelden: what we pay attention to
Glattfelden lies in the Bülach district in the Zürcher Unterland, where the Glatt flows into the Rhine, right on the border with Germany. The Society – Security department of the Glattfelden municipal administration is responsible for a temporary no-parking zone on moving day and also issues police permits, based on the cantonal signage ordinance. The Bülach city police are present locally. We handle the application for you.
In addition to the village centre, the municipality includes the districts of Zweidlen, Schachen, Rheinsfelden and the Rhine exclave of Neuhus. The Reformed church on Pfarrgasse dates back to a mention in 1275, and the Klingelehaus, a protected cultural monument, dates from 1526. The Eglisau-Glattfelden power station near Rheinsfelden was built between 1915 and 1920 and still supplies around 70'000 households with electricity today. Zweidlen has its own station on the S36 to Bülach and Bad Zurzach, while Glattfelden itself is on the S9 to Zurich; bus line 540 also runs between the station, the village and Zweidlen. The A50 passes north of the village.

Getting to know Glattfelden
Moving company Glattfelden – Gottfried Keller's holiday village on the border
Gottfried Keller spent his summer holidays in Glattfelden as a young man, and to this day the Gottfried-Keller-Zentrum with its museum and the Dichterweg (poets' trail) over the Laubberg to Kaiserstuhl commemorate him. Living between the Laubberg and the Rhine
Along the Dichterweg lie the 495-metre Laubberg with the «Paradisgärtli» viewpoint and the «Heidenhöhlen» caves. Until 2010 Glattfelden was also home to the largest film studios in Switzerland, the former production site of Lüthi und Blanc. South-east of the village, on a spur of the hill, lies the site of Mangoldsburg castle. The coat of arms with three black antlers recalls the Counts of Nellenburg.
