In 1882, R.+E. Huber was founded in Pfäffikon, producing telegraph wires, cables and rubber goods; it merged into Huber+Suhner in 1969. The old factory site on Tumbelenstrasse in the village centre was sold in 2011 and redeveloped with residential and commercial buildings; the Witzberg plant in the west of the municipality is still in operation. Minelli has also been active in mechanical engineering since 1961.
