Getting to know Reinach

On 1 June 2026, Reinach passed the mark of 10,000 inhabitants for the first time; at the end of 2025 there were still 9,933 (as of 31 December 2025). The municipality in the upper Wynental more than doubled in size during the 20th century. Markets, cigars and wire
At the end of the 16th century Reinach was granted market rights; four large goods markets are still held every year. If your moving day falls close to a market day, we agree the loading space with you particularly early.
The upper Wynental is popularly known as the "Stumpenland" (cigar country), because from around 1850 it became the centre of Swiss cigar production. At the same time metalworking grew, first with clothes hangers, later with wire. On the Kapf, the hill towards Beinwil, stands the Reformed church of 1529, the first church in Switzerland to be Reformed from the outset.
