Applying for an RVV-Ontheffing in Eindhoven
If you need to stop in a no-parking zone or despite a no-entry restriction in Eindhoven, you must apply for an RVV-Ontheffing (exemption) via the Gemeente's online form. It costs 50 euros for 1 day and 100 euros for 2 days up to 1 year. A decision is made within 8 weeks; contact: RVV@eindhoven.nl or 14 040. Access with the removal van
Eindhoven zero-emission zone: access rules
Since 1 January 2025, a zero-emission zone for lorries and vans has applied within the ring road. Vans of classes Euro 0 to 4 and lorries that were more than 8 years old on 1 January 2025 may not enter. Transitional rules: Euro 5 vans until 1 January 2027, Euro 6 vans until 1 January 2028; Euro 6 lorries first registered 2017 to 2019 until 1 January 2028, and those first registered 2020 to 2024 until 1 January 2030. Since 1 July 2026, the Vrachtwagenheffing has applied in the Netherlands – a distance-based toll for Dutch and foreign lorries of classes N2 and N3 with a technically permissible maximum mass of more than 3,500 kg. Registering in Eindhoven after your move
Anyone moving to the Netherlands must register in the BRP personal records database with the municipality within 5 days of arrival and will receive a citizen service number (BSN). (Source: government.nl) You register in person at the Inwonersplein counter in the Stadhuis within 5 days of arrival. On the Swiss side, you need to deregister with your municipality of residence before moving to Eindhoven. It is also worth setting up mail forwarding early.
