Parking on moving day
Applying for a parking space for your move in Paris
You apply via the City of Paris online form; the application is reviewed by the police station of the relevant arrondissement. Submit it at least 15 days before the move, otherwise it may not be processed in time. The authorisation is not a space reservation. Access with the removal van
ZFE métropolitaine (Métropole du Grand Paris): what applies to the removal van
The ZFE covers the area inside the A86, excluding the motorway itself. Since 1 January 2025, vehicles with Crit'Air 3, 4, 5 or no classification have been affected: lorries 7 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm, vans Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8 pm, except on public holidays. An educational phase without fines runs until the end of 2026. (Source: paris.fr)
Lorries over 7.5 tonnes may not drive in France from Saturday 10 pm to Sunday 10 pm, or from 10 pm on the eve of a public holiday until 10 pm on the holiday itself. In 2026, additional driving bans apply on Saturdays 11, 18 and 25 July and 1 and 8 August, each from 7 am to 7 pm. (Source: bison-fute.gouv.fr)

After the move: registering in Paris
In France there is no general obligation to register with the municipality; you can change your place of residence without prior declaration. (Source: senat.fr) You can register on the electoral roll online via service-public.fr, at one of the 17 mairies d'arrondissement or by post; the City of Paris will inform you of the decision within eight days. A vehicle with Swiss number plates must be registered within 1 month of settling in France; this also requires customs certificate 846A. (Source: paris.fr) Appointments and city information.
In Switzerland, you deregister with your municipality of residence before moving abroad. It is best to arrange international mail forwarding early.
