Every move in Zurzach starts with us taking a look at the local conditions: access, floors, parking and the route to the removal van. Zurzach lies on the High Rhine on the border with Germany. Border location on the Rhine; Bad Zurzach has rail connections to Waldshut, Baden, Bülach and Winterthur.
Whether in the centre or in Bad Zurzach, Baldingen, Böbikon, Kaiserstuhl, Rekingen or Rietheim: we clarify access and space during the survey before every move. Zurzach belongs to the district of Zurzach in the canton of Aargau.
Today's municipality of Zurzach has only existed since 1 January 2022. On that date, Bad Zurzach, Baldingen, Böbikon, Kaiserstuhl, Rekingen, Rietheim, Rümikon and Wislikofen merged under the project name «Rheintal+». This was preceded, from 2000, by the administrative cooperation «Verwaltung2000», in which several of the smaller municipalities were already working together. The main town is Bad Zurzach, which until 2006 was also officially called Zurzach. At almost 26 km², the municipality is large, and the eight villages are spread across this area.
Important for your move: the merger project stipulated that the existing place names, postcodes and street names would remain unchanged. Anyone moving from Rekingen to Bad Zurzach or from Wislikofen to Kaiserstuhl is therefore moving within the same municipality, but the address still refers to the previous village. That is why we always note the village and postcode when you enquire, so that our team arrives at the right place.
As a moving company in Zurzach, we plan each village individually:
The villages have developed very differently. In Rekingen, Rietheim and Bad Zurzach, the population has grown very strongly since 1850, by 65 to 362 per cent. In Rümikon and Wislikofen it rose moderately, while in Baldingen, Böbikon and Kaiserstuhl it was even lower in 2020 than in 1850. Since 2000 the population has increased by 738 people, and in total the present municipal area had 8,476 inhabitants (as of 2020). Zurzach is around 30 km as the crow flies from our base in Wallisellen.
Alongside the growing villages, there are also considerably smaller ones. Especially there, it pays to fix the access and vehicle size before moving day.
In the long term, the school locations are to be Bad Zurzach and Rekingen; children from Kaiserstuhl attend school in Weiach in the canton of Zurich. To the north, the Rhine forms the border with Germany. For families with school-age children, we schedule the move on a Saturday on request, without a Saturday surcharge.
From Bad Zurzach, rail connections run to Baden and Bülach, among other places. If you are moving on in that direction, we also handle the move to Baden or act as your removal company for Bülach. For trade businesses in all villages, our removals team in Zurzach offers business relocations outside operating hours. You receive the quote within 24 hours.
Is my old address in Rekingen or Kaiserstuhl still valid after the merger?
Yes. When the municipality of Zurzach was formed by merger in 2022, place names, postcodes and street names remained unchanged. With every enquiry we record the village and postcode so that the moving-in and moving-out addresses are unambiguous.
Do you move households to all eight villages of Zurzach?
Yes. The municipality comprises Bad Zurzach, Baldingen, Böbikon, Kaiserstuhl, Rekingen, Rietheim, Rümikon and Wislikofen. For each village we clarify access, parking and carrying route during the viewing.
Since the 2022 merger, the municipality of Zurzach stretches from Kaiserstuhl to Rietheim. Between the main town with its rail connection and the smallest villages, buildings and available space differ noticeably.
The main town is home to the administration and rail connections to Waldshut, Baden and Bülach, and the Bächle area is listed in the ISOS (federal inventory of protected townscapes) as being of national importance. On busier streets we secure the parking space early and keep the carrying route short.
In these two villages, the population has grown particularly strongly since 1850. For apartment buildings we check the lift, stair width and parking space, so that vehicle and crew are sized appropriately.
Fewer people lived here in 2020 than in 1850, and the villages have stayed small. For addresses there, we clarify passage width and turning options in advance, so that no reloading onto a smaller vehicle is needed on moving day.
Where the removal truck cannot stand on private land, we apply for the parking space with the relevant office in Zurzach. The authority invoices the fee; we handle the organisation for all eight villages.
The municipality publishes a waste calendar with collection points and collection dates for the entire municipal area. Anything that should not wait until the next collection day, we take with us on moving day and dispose of for CHF 65.– per m³.
Besides Bad Zurzach, Rekingen, Rietheim, Rümikon, Wislikofen, Baldingen, Böbikon and Kaiserstuhl, we also move households to other places in Aargau such as Baden, Wettingen or Aarau. You will find the local pages and services below.
Our company has 184 reviews on Google and an average of 4.8 out of 5 stars. Customers describe how their moves with us went directly in the profile.
Ideally grandparents, friends or neighbours who can look after the children for a few hours. Older children can pack their own box with favourite toys beforehand, which goes into the new children's room first. This makes the move to Bad Zurzach or Rekingen easier.
Like a proper cross-country drive, even though you stay in the same municipality. We load in one go so that the vehicle does not have to shuttle several times between the villages, and in Bad Zurzach we plan the parking space on the busier street in advance. At the destination, our carpenters assemble the furniture on the same day.
That is best decided beforehand with a simple sketch for each room. Give every room a colour or number and mark boxes and furniture the same way. On moving day we then put everything straight in the right place, and you save yourself rearranging.
Old stairs, doors and floors that cannot be replaced. We measure passageways in advance, dismantle large furniture rather than tilting it, and pad banisters and frames. We lay floor protection from the entrance into every room, and heavy items are carried by enough people so that nothing scrapes the walls.
Once you have finished unpacking, we collect the boxes from your new address, including in Kaiserstuhl, Wislikofen or another village. Fold them flat and leave them ready in an easily accessible place, such as the garage.
Above all, a complete inventory list with your Swiss and your German address. We handle the complete customs clearance for you, i.e. the export from Switzerland and the import into Germany. We clarify the details during the viewing, on site or by video.
The distance is short, but you are moving from Aargau to the canton of Zurich. You deregister in Zurzach and register in Weiach, and a car needs Zurich number plates. We apply for the parking space at the destination with the municipality of Weiach, and where the lanes in Kaiserstuhl are tight, a smaller vehicle comes from the outset.
Bed linen, pyjamas, toothbrushes, towels, charging cables, a few plates and cups, plus light bulbs and basic tools. Mark this box clearly. We load it last and put it down first in the new flat, so that the first evening stays relaxed.
