Until 1938 the municipality was officially called simply Neuhausen. It is famous for the Rhine Falls, which it shares with Laufen-Uhwiesen, but it was shaped above all by industry. The railway connections of 1857 and 1863 first boosted tourism and industrialisation; around 1900 tourism declined sharply while new businesses settled here. Neuhausen am Rheinfall had 10,510 inhabitants (as of 2018) and lies around 30 km as the crow flies from our base in Wallisellen.
