Getting to know Küttigen
Moving company Küttigen: removals in the Aabach valley at the foot of the Folded Jura
Küttigen stretches from the Aare up to the main ridge of the Folded Jura. Between the lowest point at 360 m above sea level on the riverbank and the crest of the Wasserflue, at 866 m the second-highest elevation in Aargau, lie more than 500 metres of altitude. It is mainly the middle Aabach valley that is inhabited, but even there many roads climb noticeably. As the crow flies, Küttigen lies around 41 km from our base in Wallisellen.
Four districts, each with its own character
The municipality is made up of four settlements that have loosely grown together:
- Küttigen as the main settlement in the middle Aabach valley
- Rombach in the south-west, between Buechwald and the Aabach, built seamlessly onto Aarau
- Horen in the Horenbach valley
- Kirchberg, also in the Horenbach valley
For a move from Rombach to the main settlement or from Horen down towards the Aare, the rule is: depending on the position on the slope, we choose the vehicle size and check the carrying distance during the free inspection, on site or by WhatsApp video.
No station, but two passes
Küttigen has no railway station of its own; bus lines run to Aarau station. Instead, the routes over two Jura passes run through the municipality: the Benkerjoch at 674 m and the Staffelegg at 621 m, over which the canton built a road to the Fricktal as early as 1804. Anyone moving to the Fricktal, or from the Fricktal to Küttigen, therefore travels directly over the Jura.
Economically, Küttigen is strongly oriented towards Aarau. If you work there, you can move with us on a Saturday too, with no Saturday surcharge.
Living in the Jurapark
The entire municipal area belongs to the Jurapark Aargau, a regional nature park of national importance, and around half of its 1,190 hectares is forest. In the second half of the 20th century Küttigen became a sought-after residential location; since 1950 the population has grown almost two and a half times and today stands at 6,997 (as of end of 2024).
