Obtaining a moving permit in València
The responsible body is the Servicio de Circulación y Transportes of the Ajuntament de València, which issues the «Autorización para la realización de mudanzas». You submit the application 15 working days in advance, or 30 working days for pedestrian streets – in person or online, with or without a digital certificate. A fee is charged for the permit. ZBE València: access rules
The ZBE València does not restrict lorries, vans or buses; it only affects cars, mopeds and motorcycles without a badge (category A). Since 1 December 2025, such vehicles registered outside the province of Valencia have been fined; from 1 January 2027 this will apply to those from the province, and from 1 January 2028 to all. The traffic authority DGT restricts the movement of goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight on certain days and at certain times. This rule applies nationwide except in Catalonia, the Basque Country and Navarre, which have their own traffic powers. (Source: dgt.es)
After moving in
Registering your residence in Valencia
The Oficina del Padrón on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (entrance Periodista Azzati 2) is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the Juntas Municipales in the neighbourhoods also accept registrations. You can get an appointment via the city website or on 010, 963 100 010 or 962 081 104; with an electronic signature you can also register online. The proof of address must include the property's cadastral reference, and registration only takes place after the documents have been checked. Don't forget: before you leave, deregister with your Swiss municipality of residence and set up mail forwarding to Valencia in good time.
