Getting to know Risch

Most people know the municipality as Risch Rotkreuz, and there is a reason for that: more than 80 per cent of the population lives in the small town of Rotkreuz. Alongside it, the villages of Risch, Buonas and Holzhäusern have kept their independent character despite strong growth. For a removal, these are two completely different worlds.
Rotkreuz: growth, business and pharma
Rotkreuz only grew together from the hamlets of Waldeten, Rotrüti and Küntwil in the mid-20th century. It was the construction of the railway that made the town the economic centre, and with the town hall it became the capital of the municipality, which was formed in 1798 from the bailiwick of Gangolfswil and the lordship of Buonas. Today housing, trade and industry sit side by side here. With population growth of around 1.7 per cent per year, Risch is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Switzerland; in 2022 it had 11,253 inhabitants with economic residence.
Roche Diagnostics has its corporate headquarters in Rotkreuz, Novartis and Sandoz have consolidated sites here, and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Hochschule Luzern) runs a campus. For companies and institutes, our removal firm offers:

Things look quite different in the three villages. They are almost exclusively residential and lie between farmland, forest and lakeshore. In Buonas and Freudenberg there are castles with their own woodland grounds, and near Holzhäusern lies the largest golf course in Switzerland. The terrain rises southwards from Lake Zug up to the Kappelerberg at 680 m above sea level; on the northern slope of the Rooterberg, Ibikon forms a terrace with fine views.
