From the old town by the Aare gorge to Schinznach-Bad, we move flats, houses and offices.

Hand over your old flat in Umiken cleaned, with a handover guarantee and our team on site.

We clear attics, cellars and garages in Lauffohr and dispose of everything that is no longer needed.

If there is a gap between moving out and moving in within Brugg, we keep your furniture in our storage facility.
Brugg is long and narrow, with an old town on the Aare and a residential slope on the Bruggerberg. This process shows how we organise your move there.
Tell us your district, floor and preferred date. We look at your flat and the access without obligation, at your home or by video, and then send a quote.
If the van stands on public ground, we submit the application to the responsible office in Brugg and coordinate the date with your moving day.
We drop off moving boxes, tape and padding free of charge, so you can pack books, kitchen and cellar in the days beforehand.
For flats in the historic core near the old bridge, we check whether a furniture lift can get large items to their destination faster via a window or balcony.
Between Umiken and Lauffohr we match vehicle size and loading space to the hillside access roads, so the route to the front door stays as short as possible.
Between the south-west and the north-east of the town lies a long stretch through the Aare valley; we plan the driving time realistically and secure the load.
Our own carpenters assemble the furniture, the boxes go into the labelled rooms, and the floors stay covered until the end.
On request we clean your old flat with a handover guarantee. We then collect the boxes, and the invoice follows according to the quote.

Within the town the distances can be long, as the municipal area stretches for more than nine kilometres from Schinznach-Bad to Lauffohr. On the slopes of the Bruggerberg the carrying route and vehicle size matter, in the old town by the old bridge the loading space and furniture lift. The free viewing establishes the effort involved.

For us, every move in Brugg starts with a look at the local conditions: access, floors, parking and the route to the removal van. The town lies at the southern foot of the Jura, near the "moated castle" of Switzerland (Wasserschloss), the confluence of the Aare, Reuss and Limmat rivers. Brugg station is a hub for regional and long-distance services and the terminus of the S12 of the Zurich S-Bahn; the A3 junction is approx. 4 km to the south.
Whether in the centre or in Umiken, Lauffohr, Schinznach-Bad and Altenburg: we clarify access and space during the survey before every move. In addition to Brugg itself, we also operate in the neighbouring municipalities of Riniken, Rüfenach, Villigen, Untersiggenthal and Gebenstorf. Brugg belongs to the district of Brugg in the canton of Aargau.
Brugg is a town of length, not width. The municipal area stretches for more than nine kilometres through the Aare valley but is barely more than one kilometre wide at its widest point. For a moving company in Brugg this means: a move from Schinznach-Bad to Lauffohr stays within the same municipality, yet runs right across the entire town.
Brugg had 15,234 inhabitants (as of the end of 2024) and is the capital of the district of the same name. Our base in Wallisellen is around 30 km away as the crow flies.
The Aare separates the Swiss Plateau in the south from the Tabular Jura in the north. North of the river, the houses from Umiken to Lauffohr line up in a narrow strip along the southern flank of the wooded Bruggerberg, which at 516 m above sea level is the highest point of the town. South of the river, the plain near Altenburg is densely built up with residential and commercial buildings as far as the cantonal road.
On the slopes of the Bruggerberg we clarify during the viewing how long the carrying route is and which vehicle size fits. On the plain it is more about the loading space in front of the house.
Next to the old town, the river, otherwise up to 130 metres wide, squeezes through a gap in the limestone rock just 15 metres wide, crossed by the old bridge. Brugg also owes its name to it: it corresponds to the Swiss German word for "bridge". If you are moving into or out of an older building in this area, early planning pays off:
Today's town has grown together over two centuries: Altenburg joined in 1901, Lauffohr in 1970, Umiken in 2010 and Schinznach-Bad in 2020. The town has extensive industrial and commercial areas, the headquarters of the Swiss Farmers' Union and a campus of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. For offices and businesses, our removals team handles office moves outside working hours so that day-to-day work carries on.
If you move to Brugg, you pay a municipal Steuerfuss (municipal tax rate) of 97 % in 2026; in neighbouring Windisch it is 115 %. In the south-east, Brugg has grown together with Windisch, so a move to Windisch is only a short trip. We also support you as the removals company for Gebenstorf or with a move to Untersiggenthal beyond the Wasserschloss (confluence of Aare, Reuss and Limmat). For each of these routes, Swiss Umzüge are your movers in Brugg.
Do you also move households to Schinznach-Bad, Umiken and Lauffohr?
Yes. Schinznach-Bad has been part of the town of Brugg since 2020, Umiken since 2010 and Lauffohr since 1970. For every address in these districts we clarify the loading space and carrying route individually during the viewing.
How do you plan a move on the southern flank of the Bruggerberg?
North of the Aare, the houses from Umiken to Lauffohr lie on the slopes of the Bruggerberg. During the free viewing we check access, carrying route and the right vehicle size, and decide whether a furniture lift makes sense.
Brugg stretches as a narrow band through the Aare valley, with its old town by the Aare gorge, a residential slope on the Bruggerberg and a built-up plain near Altenburg. Driving distances within the town and access routes therefore vary greatly.
The old town lies right next to the gorge, around 1.5 kilometres long, with its rapids. For addresses in the historic core we clarify in advance how close the removal van can get to the entrance and whether a furniture lift is needed for upper floors.
Lauffohr lies in the far north-east at the narrow point between the Reinerberg and the Limmat and has been part of Brugg since 1970. If you move from here to the south-west of the town, we build the drive along its full length into the schedule.
The south-westernmost district has been part of Brugg since 2020 and is home to the Bad Schinznach hotel and spa complex. Because it lies on the right bank of the Aare away from the centre, we check access and loading space there separately.
As far as the cantonal road, the plain is built up with residential and commercial buildings and sports facilities. In the larger residential blocks, lift dimensions, floors and a free space in front of the entrance are central to the planning.
Whether old town, Umiken or Schinznach-Bad: if the removal van stops on public ground, we reserve the space at the responsible office in Brugg. The authority charges the permit fee; we take care of the application and date.
We take discarded furniture away directly and dispose of it properly for CHF 65.– per m³. For household quantities of glass, aluminium and paper, the town of Brugg's collection point is the right address.
The town has extensive industrial and commercial areas, the headquarters of the Swiss Farmers' Union and a campus of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. Outside working hours we relocate offices, IT infrastructure and archives there.
Besides Brugg we work in Windisch, Riniken, Rüfenach and Villigen, as well as in Hausen, Habsburg, Gebenstorf and Untersiggenthal. In the south-east, Brugg has grown together with Windisch.
184 reviews on Google give Swiss Umzüge & Entsorgung GmbH an average of 4.8 out of 5 stars. You can read there, in their own words, how others experienced their move.
Our team, which we size accordingly for such buildings. Our carpenters dismantle wardrobes and beds in advance so they fit through narrow staircases, and we protect steps, banisters and walls with padding and covers. If an item still will not go through the stairwell, the furniture lift raises it through the window.
We schedule the move from Friday evening or on Saturday. We pack files, workstations and IT equipment individually and label them, and our carpenters reassemble desks and cabinets at the new site so that work can start on Monday. For servers or laboratory equipment we also offer our IT and laboratory relocation service.
For the new address, at the responsible office of the municipality of Windisch, because Windisch is politically independent and has its own rules. We organise the reservation at both addresses, in Brugg and in Windisch, and coordinate the dates with your moving day. Each authority invoices its own fees.
Check with your property management whether the lift is free on moving day and where the van may stand in front of the entrance. Also measure large items such as a sofa or wardrobe so we know what needs to be dismantled. We protect the lift car, stairwell and floors before the first piece of furniture goes out.
After you move out and before the handover appointment, as soon as the rooms are empty. Our team is present at the inspection with the property management and fixes any points raised immediately and free of charge. That way you need neither a second appointment nor any re-cleaning on your own, even with creaky parquet floors or old windows.
We charge even small jobs by actual working time, in 15-minute increments and with a minimum of three hours. For a wardrobe and a few boxes from Umiken to Lauffohr you therefore pay at least these three hours and beyond that only the time worked. Your quote states the exact scope.
Because it tells you in advance the maximum amount the move will cost. On request we agree a cost ceiling or a fixed price after the viewing, once volume, access and routes are clear. This helps especially if you are moving right across the elongated town and the time required is hard to estimate.
Planning that combines two very different types of access in one day: in the old town, a reserved space near the front door counts; on the slope, the access road to the new house. We therefore choose a vehicle that suits both addresses and organise the team so that even a longer route to the entrance progresses quickly.
