Access with the removal van
ZTL A1 Tridente: what you need to know
From 7 September to 7 December 2026, commercial vehicles of classes N1 to N3 may not enter the ZTL A1 (Tridente) between 8 am and 6 pm. Removal vehicles are exempt but require a specific permit from the responsible authority in advance. (Source: romamobilita.it)
Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes may not drive on roads outside built-up areas on Sundays and national public holidays, usually from 9 am to 10 pm, and from 7 am between June and September. Register your residence in Rome
In Italy, under Art. 13 DPR 223/1989, the declaration of residence (dichiarazione di residenza) must be submitted within 20 days of the move, including when moving from abroad. Don't forget: before leaving, deregister with your Swiss municipality of residence and arrange mail forwarding to Rome in good time.
